About the campaign
For the bulk of our lives we will pay bills, we’ll budget and we’ll work. These are all life skills, but money skills, financial literacy and work experience aren’t things that there is much education on in our schools.
My campaign will focus on these vital skills, finding out how this can be improved, what support is available, what opportunities are out there and how it can be improved.
Objectives
- I will research young people’s opinions to find out what they know and what they would like to learn about money matters. I will talk to schools and youth groups about financial education and money skills – researching and promoting available resources
- I will talk to small business owners, organisations and networks to promote the benefits of offering work experience to young people
- I will talk to young entrepreneurs and young people setting up in business to find out what support they needed to get started and promote any funding, training and opportunities that are available to them.
