About the campaign
With so many sources of news out there, from traditional sources like newspapers and TV to new media like website, apps and social media, we can be overwhelmed with news. But, not all of it is accurate and there is a lot of misinformation out there, whether intentional or not. And with so much information, young people’s views and opinions can often get lost in the mix.
My campaign aims to find out and work towards finding the most accurate sources of information available, so that young people know that what they’re hearing is truthful. While I also aim to work with key community figures to make sure that young people’s voices are heard and acted on.
Objectives
- I will create a survey investigating where people get their news from, whether that be newspaper, social media, website, app or any other source
- I will research sources, fact checking and comparing where these sources intentionally or unintentionally get things wrong.
- I will work with town and village councils, as well as important community figures across the county to ensure that they are keeping your interests at heart
- I will use research from people like you to help make sure that your voice is impossible to ignore.
