In December 2024 Emma Brown, Somerset Member of Youth Parliament, gave a presentation during the Somerset Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP) Forum Week as part of her campaign. We previously posted an article about her experience, but today we’re delighted to show you a video of Emma presenting to the forum.
The SSCP Forum Week was a great opportunity for me to talk about my campaign and let others know about all of the work we do as Youth Parliament. It allowed me to express my views surrounding social media and let me highlight how we must change our focus on social media and put and emphasis on youth-led work.
The presentation below was what I used to visually represent my campaign; Here you can learn a bit about me, my campaign and services and support for those who require support. I really enjoy creating presentations and resources so that they capture young people’s attention and spread my messages.

Somerset Youth Parliament campaigns
Each Member of Youth Parliament works on a campaign during their term, which is supported by their Deputies and the Advisory Group. It allows us to understand what changes young people want to see in the communities they live in and makes sure that those views are heard by Somerset’s decision makers.
