Member of Somerset Youth Parliament’s Advisory Group Gemma has put together a look back over the most recent Youth Parliament meeting.

Last Sunday, I attended my second in-person meeting as part of Somerset Youth Parliament. After the enjoyment of the first meeting in January, I was really excited to attend and be more vocal with my ideas!

A talk with Rob Morrish from the Somerset Councils Careers Hub gave me and the other members a brilliant opportunity to express our views and experiences regarding careers education in schools. As a student myself, I am passionate about ensuring that all students receive equal access to high quality resources and information about their next steps. It was also fascinating to learn more about the work Rob and his team are doing to improve careers education across Somerset schools.

This discussion highlights the work Youth Parliament can do to improve representation of young people across a variety of Somerset schools!
