There’s a lot going on in the world right now and it’s very easy to get sucked in and let it affect us. In this lovely article Noah, member of the Somerset Youth Parliament advisory group, talks us through this very topic.

At the moment, there is a lot of tension around the globe which can influence young people in a number of ways, including what they see and what they think they understand on social media. What is spread on social media can sometimes be misinformation and this can cause some young people to feel angry, scared or even say something about someone that they didn’t mean.

We were talking about how young people talk about global politics at our latest meeting. Sometimes, young people (and any person for that matter) don’t always understand what they see or hear through social media.

I would say to young people to talk to people they trust about current world conflict and research and fact check if necessary – rather than just browsing on social media for it!
