Daniel, member of the Somerset Youth Parliament Advisory Group, has been looking at self-awareness and has done some research into it, as well as it’s mental health benefits.
Today my article is about self-awareness. In recent times mental health has become a rising issue. As a way to minimise this threat different groups have been devising ways to boost mental health. Self-awareness was one thing that was found to be beneficial. Studies have shown that mental health can be boosted via self-awareness, and taking some time to think and recognize ourselves can be great for our mental health. Certain approved methods can help with self-awareness.
To help with the topic, practicing mindfulness, reflecting on your experiences, seeking feedback from others, and keeping a journal can all be great ways to help.
With Youth Parliament, we are given time to speak about things that are important to us and recent worries in a safe environment. As stated by the NHS and other health related companies” self-awareness is an important stage of positive mental health.” Also as stated “Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom.” – Lao Tzu.
Ending on this subject, I believe self-awareness is extremely relevant and should be maintained and discussed in higher regard.
