Our day to day lives can be rewarding but also exhausting. So, it’s always great to be able to kick back and enjoy a holiday – in whatever form that takes. Daniel, member of the Somerset Youth Parliament advisory group lets us know about the importance of a good holiday.

Throughout the year, the proportion of people either work in or are in some form of education. Whether people find enjoyment in this is subjective, but we can feel a bit stressed, tired or drained at the end of the work/school year. Which is perfectly normal and is extremely common. That feeling can be easily diminished. Phenomenal ways to accomplish this all come down to what you enjoy.

Most of the time when people contemplate their holidays they imagine a luxurious getaway or something extravagant. But this isn’t necessarily what everyone wants – or can afford. A holiday is something that people should enjoy and that should relieve stress not amplify it. Holidays should give people relief from the constant bombardment of everyday life.

Day-to-day life, albeit essential and indispensable, can eventually cause negative strain on our mental health. And Holidays can give us a break from this. This also helps us come back to our daily commutes with a sharper and more refined outlook and thus a better work ethic.

In conclusion, Holidays are necessary to help ourselves, even if they aren’t something expensive or far away.
