School and education, it may not always be fun and at times it may feel like drag or a waste of time. But, getting an education is really important and often in ways that you don’t always see. In this article Daniel, member of the Somerset Youth Parliament Advisory Group, lets us know about the importance of an education.
Today for my article I’m going to be talking about the importance of education. During my time at school, I always hear kids criticising schools and wishing they didn’t have to go. But today I’m going to give you a few reasons why getting a proper education is crucial.
Getting a proper education can help you to open more doors in your future. Statistics show that 90% of school graduates in the UK have got a job and 68% of those got a high-skilled job. While non-educated people had a considerably lower job rate and their options were more limited. With an education you have the opportunity to get any job you try for and with the knowledge learned from an education, you have a much higher chance of getting in. The sky’s the limit.
Getting an education can also help you socialise. Going to school and other education facilities can help you meet people with shared interests. It can also help you make connections you may cherish in later life. Schools provide a safe, structured environment to learn social normalities, build peer relationships, and participate in group activities, which fosters communication, cooperation, empathy, and a sense of belonging.
An Education is crucial because it empowers individuals to achieve personal fulfilment, economic stability and an informed citizenship by fostering critical thinking, creativity and essential life skills. On a societal level, education drives economic growth, reduces inequality, promotes peace and tolerance, it also preserves culture, leading to a more stable and prosperous future for everyone.
I hope you have found this article interesting. Teachers try their best and at the end of the day are trying to help you. Thank you for reading.
