Hi I’m Blake,
I want to help improve financial education and money skills, as well as improve work experience opportunities for young people in Somerset.
I am confident, happy to listen to other people’s views or idea and I have experience of representing other young people from my time as a class representative at my school council.
I am very chatty and enjoy a good joke. I like Warhammer and am getting into Dungeons and Dragons. I live in a rural area and I like to explore where I live and walking in the countryside.

- Financial independence and better money skills can improve young people’s mental health
- Young people often miss out on work experience due to a lack of business placements
- Young entrepreneurs should receive more support and promotion than they are currently getting.
During my term, I will…
- Research young people’s opinions to find out what they know and what they would like to learn about money matters. I will talk to schools and youth groups about financial education and money skills – researching and promoting available resources
- Talk to small business owners, organisations and networks to promote the benefits of offering work experience to young people
- Talk to young entrepreneurs and young people setting up in business to find out what support they needed to get started and promote any funding, training and opportunities that are available to them.
