We want to know what you think of the services that you use, the support and the facilities that are available to you.
Youth Forum is a platform for young people, where members can share their ideas, discuss the issues affecting them and have their voices heard about what’s important to them. The Forum provides a safe space where young people can share and engage in decision-making processes and help to influence policy.
We challenge the services that young people use, creating real change and helping Somerset to be a safe, child-friendly county that supports young people to be happy, healthy and prepared for adulthood.
Youth forum is open to every young person who lives in or goes to school or college in Somerset aged 10-18 years (up to 25 years with SEND). Meeting monthly online (over Teams from 5.30-7.00pm on either a Wednesday or Thursday evening), we discuss an agreed topic or issue, where service gaps are and how things can be changed or improved to fit young people’s needs.
Abi, a member of Youth Forum said: “Youth forum is the environment I wish I had at secondary school, a place to speak about issues I’m facing, and represent others, judgement free. It’s given me the confidence to journey into a career of national policy.”
If you are or if you know a young person who would be interested in joining Youth Forum, please fill in our form here
We’ve also got a poster that you can download, share or print out, to put up in your school, college or any youth clubs or noticeboards.
If you’re not sure about what to expect- you can always come along to a session and decide for yourself!
